The vision for
Northern Gateway
FEC, Manchester City Council and partners will invest over £1 billion in developing the Northern Gateway over the next 20 years. All along the Irk River Valley will be new homes, schools, healthcare, connected public spaces and improved travel links. Together, we’ll make the northern gateway a more united, greener place to call home.
THE CITY’S GREATEST RESIDENTIAL RENEWAL PROJECT
A draft Strategic Regeneration Framework (SRF) for the Northern Gateway was published in July 2018 which formed the basis of a public consultation exercise. Since the consultation closed on 1 October 2018 feedback has been collated and assessed with changes made to the document as appropriate.
The final version of the SRF was approved by Manchester City Council’s Executive on 13 February 2019.
THE CITY’S GREATEST RESIDENTIAL RENEWAL PROJECT
NEW HOMES AND NEW OPPORTUNITIES
INCREDIBLE GREEN SPACES
This is one of the largest opportunities for transformational change ever undertaken in Manchester. In conjunction with Manchester City Council, we have crafted a pioneering vision for the Northern Gateway which we hope will appeal to existing and future communities. We at FEC are proud to be involved in such an important project and understand the challenges presented by the site’s industrial legacy. We now have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make the Northern Gateway vision a reality
